HD DVD and Blu-Ray Encryption Already Started to Be Hacked

Remember how I've said DRM (Digital Rights Management) is useless? Well, more proof.

All of this hub-bub about "It can't be decrypted" and "It will take too much time" and all of the ridiculous restraints that the content industry puts on us through onerous acts such as the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) as well as reaching into our computers through hardware and software.

Well, the latest episode of Security Now! talks about the fact that already both of those next generation DVD formats are already on their way to being cracked by sliding through the memory (I know, a little propeller-head, but they do a good job of explaining on the show).

The business model of content and media is changing at a breakneck pace because it is a whole new world out there... so it's time to adapt, and technology won't - and can't - save the old business model.
